Sikkim National People’s party (SNPP) is a 14-year-old party formed in the year 2008.  SNPP is Sikkim’s effective opposition party in Sikkim which mainly focuses on safeguarding article 371 F.

In the last 14 years, we have raised our voice for the poor and never lied. We always raised the issues of poor people like road and other necessities which are needed by both poor and rich so we still have our followers and we are hopeful SKM will support our issues said Delay Namgyal Barfungpa, President. He said SKM party has will to do something for the society like Garib Jan Kalayan Prakostha  which is good initiative to help poor and that was not there in earlier government so I am joining SKM party. He also said we have issues like free medical and power as being pharma and power project hub we must do so we are hopeful government will also look into this.

Along with Delay Namgyak Barfunga, 294 party members also joined the SKM party and they were welcomed by CM Prem Singh Tamang with party flag and book.

Panchayats from Yangang -Rangang constituncy, SDF Active party member Santosh Subba and Milan Chettri also joined the SKM party today in a mass joining programme held at Samman Bhawan today.

CM Prem Singh Tamang “in his address welcomed all the new joiners and tell we will also pursue the issues which SNPP wants or they wanted to take up. He also showed his happiness by saying after joining of Delay Namgyal I felt like I am sharing my burden and now he will also take care of the party.

While, speaking on the recent controversy sparked after the verbal attacked by Acharya Abhaydas Maharaj. Must tell, Abhaydas Maharaj in his address, had made several hateful comments on the Christian community of Sikkim, from objecting to Christmas celebrations at MG Marg to suggesting that they should be chased out of Sikkim.

Even though CM doesn’t take name but speaking on the issue said “We should be beware of people who talk religions and spread hatred, we condemned such act: CM Prem Singh Tamang. He also said Sikkim is border state we should not bring any anti-social element in our state”
