Sikkim Review

Gangtok, Feb 19:

It seems, that all is not well between the Bharatiya Janta Party (Sikkim Chapter) and ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha led government being in a formal alliance as such BJP has decided to raise the issue in media criticising the government and they told, in future too they will hold many press conference highlighting various issues. Today, BJP Sikkim chapter raised the two pressing issues of the state that is breach of security at Tashiling Secretariat and issue of subsidy on milk which was reduced recently.

DB Chauhan President, BJP Sikkim shared “in one hand Sikkim Milk Union is saying that it has benefited from subsidy but now suddenly saying there loss of 33 lakh due to subsidy so there is no transparency so we demand state government to audit the PSUs which are not running in a proper manner and if state government cannot then hand over it to CAG and come back to us if there is no corruption then we will answer. When it was asked is all good with BJP SKM alliance then President Chauhan said “we are part of alliance but we are supporting from outside as we are not in a decision making team”

While, Spokesperson of the Sikkim BJP Unit Raju Giri termed Secretariat vandalism to be a ‘Security Breach’ demanded high tech security in all governmental institutions. He also suggested deploying of more manpower for security. He said Sikkim in recent past saw many incidents such as major fire at Eco-Heritage Cultural Park in Yangang in South Sikkim, murder in MG Marg and hospital and now this security breach in a place like Tashiling Secretariat which is one of the secured place but how easily miscreants entered and vandalised so this raise the issue of security of common people if place like this is not secured than how we citizens are safe questioned Giri.

Must tell, Sikkim government is providing incentive of Rs 8 per litre on milk and after that there is increased in milk production as per the government but recently MD of Sikkim Milk claimed that there is loss of 33 lakh in Sikkim Milk Union.
