Un-locking begins in Sikkim as inter-district movement allowed from 29th June
Restaurants to open till 10 pm

Sikkim government lifts its ban on inter-district movements from Monday onwards. However, movements of the vehicle will be allowed on odd and even basis. Meanwhile, the restriction in the Himalayan state has been extended till 5 July.
The relaxation was imposed on review of the current Covid-19 situation in the State and after careful consideration reads a notification issued by the state home department.
The notification issued by Principal Secretary, Home Department Government, R. Telang reads, ‘Inter-district movement of vehicles including two-wheelers, shall be allowed on odd-even basis. All restaurants shall be allowed to operate up to 10.00 PM with 50% seating capacity, following Covid-19 protocol. The curfew time is extended from 10.30 PM till 6.00 AM every day.
Elaborating on the odd-even arrangement the notification further reads, ‘Vehicles bearing registration number ending with odd digit shall be allowed to ply on days having odd dates while vehicles bearing registration number ending with even digit shall be allowed to ply on days having even dates’.
According to the health officials, a total of 130 new cases have been reported in last 24 hours in Sikkim. New Case includes 62 from east district,30 from west district ,22 from south district and 16 from north district. Total active cases tally stands at 2170 while 2 death have been reported in the last 24 hours with a total death toll of 301.
