Sikkim Opens Doors For Vaccinated Tourist

The Sikkim government opens its gates for vaccinated tourists from Monday onwards. Meanwhile, the Sikkim government has extended its restriction till 12 July.
The notice issued by the state home department on Friday reads, ‘on review of the current situation in the State it has been decided to revise the existing Guidelines with certain relaxations within the State of Sikkim with effect from 5 July till 12 July.
The notification issued by Principal Secretary, Home Department Government, R. Telang reads during these restricted days, ‘‘Entry of all persons, including tourists, who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, shall be allowed entry from Melli and Rangpo check post, without RTPCR Negative report, on production of valid vaccination document.  All hotels, guest houses, homestays shall be allowed to operate with 50% capacity ensuring strict adherence to Covid-19 protocol. Malls, Showrooms shall be permitted to operate following the  Covid-19 protocols. Pillion riders shall now be allowed in all two-wheelers’.
‘All State Government offices including PSUs, Boards and Corporations under the State Government shall work with 100 percent attendance of those employees who have received both doses of Covid-19 vaccine. Other employees may be permitted to follow the present arrangement of 50 percent attendance. HoDs’ to ensure vaccination of all employees in consultation with the Health Department. All factories, production units and commercial establishments, shall be allowed to operate with 100 percent manpower  provided its employees are fully jabbed. Other units will continue to follow the 50% attendance norm. The management shall ensure that Covid-19 protocol is followed by all,’’ the notification further reads.
According to the health officials, in the last 24 hours  the tiny Himalayan state has reported 21131 cases out of which 2101 are active cases while 18469 patients have been cured and discharged with 308 deaths till Sunday. 176  fresh cases with 133  recoveries were reported on Sunday.
