Group of SMIT alumni Gyantok a platform to provide free access to holistic education

Gangtok, July 2:
To provide free access to a high-quality holistic education to students of Sikkim and
the adjoining hills, a group of youth has come up with an initiative called Gyantok, an online platform. The organisation aspires to transform lives by providing access
to knowledge-centered education to anyone, anywhere, anytime, any individuals to build expertise in their field of interest and empower them to make an informed
career choice.
“We have developed a platform to provide access to high-quality CBSE Class XII content in Nepali-English, for free to students of Sikkim and adjoining hills including Darjeeling and Kalimpong. We have started with content for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. We are in the process of developing content for Biology. In the near future, we will be adding content for CBSE Class 10, CBSE Class XII Commerce, ICSE Class XII Sciences, ICSE
Class XII Commerce, ICSE ClassX,NEET, JEE, Olympiad and foundation courses,” said a statement issued by the Gyantokteam which comprises alumni of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology batch of 2016.”The inspiration behind Gyantok is that there are several online platforms providing similar services but they are not focused on holistic education and are not financially viable to every student of our region, said the statement issued on Friday.”In addition to this, the medium of instruction is either Hindi or English, which is not the native language of our kids. There is always the difficulty of grasping the concept clearly and hence they struggle. We also realized that the internet connectivity in our
region is not always stable. Therefore, live classes are not an option for them. Hence, the ideal option would be to provide high-quality recorded content in Nepali language which the students can access from anywhere and at any point in time.
Gyantok team are alumni of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology batch of 2016. Professionally, they work in different sectors around the globe. We are driven by an innate
the desire of giving back to the society they grew up in.
