Gangtok, June 25:
Dil Kumari Bhandari former and the first woman member of parliament (Lok Sabha) from Sikkim and her notable contribution being the inclusion of the Nepali language in the Eight Schedule of the Indian constitution will be conferred with the prestigious Bhanu Puraskar 2021.Her contribution towards the recognition of Nepali language is 8th Schedule is immense when she was MP.
The award will be presented n the occasion of the 207th birth anniversary celebration of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta on July 13 next in Gangtok and this year low key event will be organised because of Covid-19 pandemic.
A press release of Nepali Sahitya Parishad (NSP) Sikkim stated that NSP has been confering the prestigious Bhanu Puraskar since 1985 to litterateurs of Sikkim for their sustainable contributions towards Nepali language and literature.
The release informed that on the basis of the recommendation from two committees in two different stages, NSP has decided to confer the prestigious Bhanu Puraskar 2021 to a Dil Kumari Bhandari.
The award carries a shawl, certificate, Tamra Patra and a cash award.
