ITBP Lingdum organised a plantation drive

GANGTOK, JULY 25:

As part of nationwide plantation campaign, 13th Bn, ITBP Force, Lingdum organised a plantation drive in the camp premises of 13th Bn on 25.07.2021. The plantation drive led by Chandan Singh Bhandari, Commandent, 13 Bn, ITBP in which officers, sub ordinate officers and jawans participated.

In his address, Chandan Singh Bhandari, Commandent told that the ITBP force has been given a target of planting 10 lakh saplings under the plantation campaign 2021 by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, out of which 13 Bn ITBP got the target of planting 19000 saplings. He said that 18773 three e saplings have been planted by 13 Bn ITBP till date (22.07.2021) and today 500 different types of plants/saplings were also planted in the camp.

Commandent, 13 Bn, ITBP further said that for a balance environment, it is necessary to have forest on a large area. The harmful consequences of deforestation are visible everywhere. At least one day of the month should be dedicated for plantation by our troops and all. It is necessary for everyone to participate in this holy work as forests are the lungs of earth. Trees should be planted on infertile land, along the roads, on hilly sites, and free space in residential areas.

At the end of the campaign, Chandan Singh Bhandari commandant 13 Bn ITBP insisted to take a pledge to plant maximum sapling as well as protect them.
