Sikkimey Nagarik Samaj (SNS) has labelled a serious corruption allegation of worth Rs 47 lakh against Chief Secretary SC Gupta on the basis of CAG report. They have already sent the issue to the CBI and Enforcement Directorate and they will also file a complaint in the State Vigilance Department tomorrow.
Sikkimey Nagarik Samaj (a non political organisation) committed to the betterment of Sikkimese society would like to state that certain suspicious financial transactions and mismanagement of Disaster Management Fund directly relating to Mr. Suresh Chandra Gupta, Chief Secretary to the Government of Sikkim has surfaced in public domain. Passang Sherpa said “Mr Suresh Chandra Gupta, Chief Secretary to the Government of Sikkim had received a sum of Rs. 4750000/- (Rupees Forty Seven Lakhs and Fifty Thousand) from a proprietorship firm called ANALYST on five different dates. Not only this a sum of Rs. 384400000/- (Rupees Thirty Eight Crore and Forty Four Lakhs) from the Disaster Management Fund was illegally diverted in pretext othe f purchasing rice, pulses, cooking oil, potatoes, and onions during Covid Pandemic, based on a notification issued by Chief Secretary Mr. Suresh Chandra Gupta himself. However, the above items were neither brought nor distributed to the public shared Passang.
Passang Sherpa also said ” now the ball is in the court of the government and we are hopeful that the government will take appropriate action. We also want to say if we are wrong then jail us and if it is true the government must suspend him.
