Campaign social safety and security of journalists by Snehankar Chakraborty reached Gangtok
Gangtok, Dec 20:
Carrying the message of social safety and security of journalists, Snehankar Chakraborty has reached Gangtok, capital of Sikkim. Snehankar Chakraborty, a journalist based in Assam has taken up the initiative to spread awareness among people about the safety and security of journalists, in the wake of such issues being faced by people working in the media has now reached Sikkim.
Back home in Assam he has already embarked on a bicycle ride aiming to cover a distance of 1000 km across the state to spread awareness about the social safety and security of journalists now he wants to take the message to other North-eastern states starting with Sikkim. As a part of his campaign he will spread the message on the safety and security of journalists. Snehankar has already covered the state Assam in a bicycle journey now he will also cover parts of Sikkim.
Apart from social safety and security of journalists I would also create awareness on global climate change and it’s a mission until and unless I find some answers, this is for the rights of journalists shared
Snehankar Chakraborty while talking to the media today in Gangtok. He further shared “we should know the rights of the journalist, in fact some of the unions are working for it in India and we have laws and it is valid, but we should be aware of it. He also said he will cover all North-eastern states, South Asian countries and all India. He also informed that by 2020 more than 700 have been killed, which is the documented figure and things which are happening in places like Syria, Myanmar.
