Sikkim Review Sujal Pradhan Gangtok, August 6: Following the visit of the Sikkim’s delegation led by Minister, Agriculture, Lok Nath Sharma to the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) Switzerland. Minister Sharma today advised establishing an organic regulated market at least in two identified urban areas in the initial stage and help to prepare a marketing mechanism for the benefit of the vegetable growers during the meeting with the officials of the Horticulture department at his chamber at Tashiling Secretariat, Gangtok, today. Minister Sharma also wished to see the work progress periodically and encouraged everyone for field exercise

Today’ s meeting was attended by the Secretary Horticulture BB Subba, Pr. Director Sadan Tamang, Director M.K. Subba, Director P. L. Basnet, Additional Director B.L. Dahal, CAO JB Karki, SE (E) Bijoy Thapa, and officials.
Minister Sharma stressed for a comprehensive field exercise so that all deserving beneficiaries of Mukhya Mantri Krishi Atma Nirbhar Yojana would be covered under this production incentive scheme. He also advised organising a coordination meeting with KVK, ICAR, and Spices Board to promote research work in the horticulture sector.
He also emphasised generating massive awareness about cluster farming to sensitize the farming community in coordination with concerned BDOs and Panchayats.
