CM cabinet colleagues joined Yoga session on International Yoga Day 2021


Gangtok, June 21

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang joined his Cabinet colleagues and senior officials of the State Government in a yoga session this morning at Samman Bhawan to mark the International Day of Yoga 2021. The session was organized by Sikkim State AYUSH Society, Health Department.

This year, the theme for the event is “Yoga for Well Being” in line with the global concern around the COVID-19 pandemic emphasizing the importance of maintaining good health within the constraints of social distancing.

The Yoga session was led by Dr. S. Vinudha B.N.Y.S, MD (Yoga), and demonstrated by Yoga instructor  Jagannath Niraula and Ms Manita. Different yoga asanas were demonstrated that are useful to boost the immune system.

This day is celebrated every year to raise global awareness about the benefits of the ancient Indian practice that helps to keep mind, body and soul in peace further helping individuals to maintain a balanced lifestyle in these changing times.

The message of Yoga is to promote both physical and mental well being of humanity.
